Shortly after the release of season two of ‘Welcome to Wrexham’, a current MLS star has fired shots at Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney’s Wrexham AFC. The Hollywood owners have made their journey of owning Wrexham into a popular TV show, but it’s not all roses for everyone in the soccer world. There’s a bit of bad blood among Wrexham’s rivals, even more so after the release of the second season of the TV show. Now, a rival player has even dissed Wrexham gaffer Phil Parkison, saying he might “probably become Wrexham manager”.
The player is current LA Galaxy and former Sheffield United star Billy Sharp, who has made fresh digs at the Red Dragons and their management with his recent comments. This comes after Sharp scored in stoppage time in Sheffield United’s dramatic win over Wrexham last season in the FA Cup to dump the Red Dragons out of the competition in a fourth-round replay at Bramall Lane. After the game, Sharp hit out at Wrexham with his post match comments. Now, he has made a fresh dig at Wrexham in relation to his FA Cup goal saying that, “they can have a documentary about it”.

Sharp has lit up the MLS after his move from England to the US. The LA Galaxy forward has scored 6 goals in 6 games for the MLS franchise since his summer move. However, he has been very vocal about Wrexham taking digs at the club. In a recent interview, Sharp said, “I scored the goal which knocked them out, and a little scuffle happened in the changing room.”
“I don’t really like their manager anyway from past experiences, and he probably doesn’t like me.” “It’s just one of those things in football where it sometimes gets very overheated…I know what they’re going to do [in their documentary]; they’re going to show the clips that make me look like a baddie. That’s fine.”
“I’ll wait to see what happens and have my say afterwards. The record book says we beat them in the FA Cup, so they can have a documentary about it if they want.”
While laughing and adding a jibe towards Wrexham boss Phil Parkinson, Sharp said, “I’ll probably become Wrexham manager when Parkinson gets the sack!”

Sharp’s comments are a bitter pill to swallow for Wrexham and their local and international fan base. But of course, all is fair in love and war.
Meanwhile, Wrexham have gained some momentum and found solid ground after their shock start to life in EFL League Two.

Boosted by the return of star forward Paul Mullin, who was out with injury for the start of the season, Wrexham are now on a 7-game unbeaten run after losing their opening fixture to MK Dons 5-3.
Mullin returned for the Red Dragons as a substitute against Doncaster as Wrexham won 2-1. Wrexham also came out on top in their last game against Grimsby Town winning 3-0 with goals from Ollie Palmer, William Boyle and Elliot Lee.
