2023 has been an eventful year for Shakira, with various headlines surrounding the Colombian singer. From her highly publicized drama with ex-Gerard Pique to her record-breaking tracks, Shakira has captured the attention of fans and media alike. Adding to the list of scrutiny is Shakira’s fashion sense. And it recently has been retracted by none other than pop sensation Jennifer Lopez.
The fashion industry is no stranger to scrutiny, and this year’s Paris Fashion Week was no exception. Among the myriad of stars showcasing their unique ensembles, Shakira’s outfit caught the attention of fans and critics alike. However, it appears that Shakira’s fashion statement may not have been entirely original.

At the Paris Fashion Week among the sea of stars, Shakira turned heads with her white midi-length trench coat and fancy belt. But what caught everyone’s attention was the two-word statement sewn into the bodice of her outfit – ‘NO’. It was a bold fashion move that ignited curiosity and speculation among her fans.

However, Jennifer Lopez recently took to her Instagram to remind everyone that she was, in fact, the first to wear a similar dress. In 2018, Lopez donned a similar outfit in the music video for her song ‘Te Boté II.’ The dress, created by Viktor & Rolf, featured a striking ‘NO’ emblazoned on the chest. In a throwback video shared on Instagram, Lopez proudly displayed her outfit, captioning it with “NO. Throwback, Té Boté”.

While both Shakira and Jennifer Lopez are wearing the same outfit, it’s important to note that it is not a result of copying each other. In actuality, Viktor & Rolf had previously designed this piece for an advertising campaign of their brand, with the slogan “Say NO To Fashion”. While Shakira’s fashion sense is still a topic of scrutiny, her altercations with Gerard Piique seem to have cooled off a bit.

Shakira and Gerard Pique finally on an agreement
Initially, the ‘Waka-Waka’ singer expressed her dissatisfaction with certain aspects of Pique’s parenting. Specifically, she was unhappy that he would drop them off at their grandparents’ house when he had other commitments. According to their separation agreement, no third party is permitted to look after Milan and Sasha.
Shakira also had concerns about Pique’s increasing work obligations and shared these concerns with him. Following this, the Barcelona legend acknowledged these complaints and personally flew to Miami to pick up the children on his own this time. Currently, it seems that the former celebrity couple has achieved a peaceful resolution and are co-parenting harmoniously.
