Hours ago, Inter Miami defeated Cincinnati in a thrilling match in the U.S. Open Cup to reach the Finals of the tournament. Once again, it was Lionel Messi who almost single-handedly led his side to an enthralling victory. The Argentinian superstar is a man anyone can rely on, but according to his boss, Gerardo Tata Martino, he is nearing his physical limit.
Following the Leagues Cup triumph, the winning streak continued for Messi and Co. as they headed into another final. But after playing so many games, their star signing is seemingly feeling fatigued.

This whole month, Messi has played all possible games for Miami. Although it benefited both the club and the player, given that they lifted their first trophy, it came at a cost. Even today, La Pulga had to stand up for his side and lead them to glory. However, as the dust settles on this triumph, concerns are growing over his physical condition.
Following the match, Tata Martino elaborated on the extent to which fatigue is affecting Messi following a demanding spell. He said, “Leo like many other players is reaching a physical limit.” Expanding on this topic, Martino discussed the impact of fatigue not only on Messi but also on other players.

He added, “From this point forward, we will evaluate how we approach these next three games.” It seems the former River Plate manager knows all his players are tired after giving everything on the pitch. Perhaps a period of rest and increased player rotation is on the horizon, which, frankly, seems to be the appropriate decision.
But it remains to be seen how Martino manages to do that and give his fringe players a chance. Nevertheless, let’s talk about their epic U.S. Open comeback.

Once again, Messi and his teammates managed to clinch a crucial victory to reach the finals of the U.S. Open. Surprisingly, the match was mostly in favor of Cincinnati, who took a 2-0 lead with goals in the 18th and 53rd minutes. However, Miami finally started their comeback as Messi assisted the first goal in the 68th minute for Leonardo Campana. The match seemed to be ending in heartbreak for Miami until the World Cup winner gave another magical assist to help Campana clinch a brace and take the game to extra time.
