The race for the most goals in 2023 is heating up between plenty of top strikers. One striker in the race is Bayern Munich star Harry Kane. The England international overtook Cristiano Ronaldo in the race. However, the 30-year-old has other priorities at the moment. The forward is happy that he was able to end his goal drought.

Harry Kane has been scoring goals for fun after arriving in Bayern Munich during this summer transfer window from Tottenham. His goals are crucial in why the German giants broke their record transfer fee to sign him.

Harry Kane is pleased to be back in goals for Bayern Munich

Bayern Munich fans were delighted with the 1-0 win against Manchester United in the last group game in the Champions League. It was their sixth consecutive top-place finish in their Champions League group. However, it continued the goal drought of Harry Kane for over five hours. But the England international ended the goal drought with his brace against Stuttgart. 

Speaking after ending his goal drought, Kane said, “Yeah, it feels like forever. We had the Champions League, we had the league and then we had the game canceled. So it’s been it feels like it’s been ages since I scored, but that’s part of football. I said it last week. You know, sometimes the ball drops you, it doesn’t, and it was nice to get back on the score sheet today.”

The brace in the Bundesliga game also helped him achieve another record. Harry Kane became the highest goal scorer of 2023, with 51 goals surpassing Cristiano Ronaldo. The Portuguese forward remains on 50 goals on the level with Kylian Mbappe and Erling Haaland. Hence, the England international is aware that his first place is not safe at the moment.

Bayern Munich hopes to close the gap on Bundesliga leaders, Bayer Leverkusen. They remain four points behind Xabi Alonso’s team with one critical game in hand. Harry Kane will hope to help with his goal. But Ronaldo will also make sure that he remains in the race.

Cristiano Ronaldo hopes to erase the disappointment of the last two years!

This year, the Portuguese star is determined to win trophies for the team and himself. In the last two seasons, Ronaldo failed to win the Golden Boot with Manchester United. However, the five-time Golden Boot winner has his name in the hat for the upcoming year. But, the 38-year-old is expected to face competition from the much younger strikers.

The Al Nassr star will face stiff competition from 2022 Golden Boot winner Kylian Mbappe. Manchester City striker Erling Haaland is also another competitor, as he won the prestigious trophy in 2023.
