Even though his dream move to Real Madrid did not happen, Kylian Mbappe remains the hot topic of the 2023 summer window. Paris Saint Germain left?no avenue unexplored in their efforts to persuade the forward to stay, including banishing him from training. Despite the star forward returning to the fold and already scoring three goals in two games, PSG could now be convinced of letting the forward leave for a fee rather than on a free transfer.
Previously, Mbappe made it clear he would not be signing a new contract with PSG. Despite speculation that the French winger could sign an extension, the Parisians are reportedly planning to contact Real Madrid to discuss their interest in the World Cup winner.

Paris Saint-Germain was keen to retain their star player and tie him with a long-term deal this season. They looked to make it three for three in convincing Kylian Mbappe to stay after convincing him to play in Paris in 2017 and 2022. The Ligue 1 champs are already deep in pursuit of attacking options. They are in the midst of negotiations with the German club Eintracht Frankfurt to let Randal Kolo Muani join them. Nevertheless, Los Blancos could finally get their man after previous unsuccessful attempts if they undergo successful negotiations with PSG.

The Parisian club remains adamant about not allowing the World Cup winner to leave at the end of his contract. Mbappe was allowed to rejoin the first team after rumors of a possible contract extension with the 11-time Ligue 1 champions in the near future. However, the French World Cup winner hadn’t agreed to a contract with the club yet.
Reports claim that this would be an opportunity for Los Blancos to sign the French star late in this window. Despite earlier declaring an end to their interest in Mbappe, the Spanish side could be forced to act due to the injury to star player Vinicius Junior. However, the astronomical price tag that the French club placed on Mbappe could prove to be too high for Madrid.
Will Real Madrid match PSG’s price tag for the French phenom?
If reports are to be believed, PSG has demanded a $270 million remuneration for Kylian Mbappe to sell him to Madrid before the transfer window shut down. They were hoping to recoup their ?180 million investment in the French international. However, the Spanish giants don’t look likely to part ways with such a colossal figure after signing Jude Bellingham in the summer for ?103 million.
Real Madrid claimed that they would only go as high as $175 million, which includes a bonus. The 14 x Champions League winner could make their opening bid of $130 million in order to tempt PSG in pursuit of Mbappe. The Ancelotti-led side could be hoping that time works in their favor and PSG let the Frenchman leave in order to not lose him next summer. RMA is also in desperate need of attacking reinforcements after losing Karim Benzema in the summer and recently losing star player Vinicius Junior to a serious injury.
