Shortly after Jadon Sancho‘s row with Manchester United boss Erik Ten Hag, reports suggest that it has sparked unrest in the United dressing room. According to several reports, Manchester United’s squad is getting increasingly fed up with Ten Hag’s rules and criticism. They have even alleged that the Dutch boss displays suggested ‘favoritism’ for certain players. This comes shortly after the United lost 4-3 to Bayern Munich in the Champions League earlier this week.
Sancho hit out at Ten Hag after the manager publicly criticized the United attacker for not training well prior to the game against Arsenal. The Englishman deleted the tweet shortly after although the damage was done. Sancho released a statement on X, stating that his manager’s statements were “completely untrue”. Moreover he retorted by stating that he had in fact been training “very well”. He also suggested that“there are other reasons for this matter that I won’t go into”. This row between the boss and a star player seems like it has trickled down to the entire squad.

According to Manchester Evening News, unnamed dressing room sources told the media outlet that they believe Ten Hag has certain favorites in his squad. The report indicates that the Dutchman doesn’t call out and criticize his favorites. This conduct proves problematic as others are held to a different standard. Sancho has refused to apologize to Ten Hag due to his comments after United’s 3-1 loss to Arsenal.

The Red Devils have confirmed that Sancho trains individually apart from the rest of the squad. So far a resolution has failed to emerge after the United winger’s failure to apologize. The ex-Dortmund winger still sticks to his beliefs that he has been a victim of Ten Hag’s ‘double standards’.
Despite the winger’s absence, United put forward a lively display in their match against Bayern despite being massive underdogs.
Manchester United almost mount a comeback against Bayern Munich
Meanwhile, for the Red Devils on the pitch, the club played their old 1999 treble season final rivals Bayern Munich in the group stage of the UEFA Champions League. United got off to a shocking start as Bayern took the lead with a quickfire double from Leroy Sane and Serge Gnabry, who put the United defense to the sword to the delight of the Bayern fans in the Allianz Arena.

New Red Devils signing Rasmus Hojlund then pulled one back in the 49th minute. But the Manchester outfit endured poor luck to concede a contentious penalty after Christian Eriksen’s handball in the box. Bayern’s new star frontman Harry Kane converted from the spot to make it 3-1. The penalty looked like it had put the game to bed.
However, Casemiro struck for United in the 88th minute making it 3-2 and it seemed like the comeback was on. But soon after Joshua Kimmich played a delightful ball to Mathys Tel who scored emphatically in the 90+2′ minute. Casemiro scored again with almost the last kick of the game in the 90+5′ minute but it was too little too late for the Red Devils, as they eventually lost 4-3 on the night.
