It has not been a year since FIFA conducted an immensely successful Men’s World Cup in Qatar and minted billions of dollars in revenues. Just eight months after that, FIFA Women’s World Cup is set to kick off, a spectacle for soccer fans.

When talking about revenues, after earning a whopping amount from the immensely successful Qatar World Cup, the top soccer governing body is set to reward a whopping amount of over $200 million.

FIFA will award payouts to players and clubs for their participation

Notably, the Qatar World Cup saw FIFA getting a whopping $7.5 billion in revenues from ticket sales, more than a billion dollars from the 2018 edition. Amid the build-up for the women’s World Cup, FIFA released an update on the transfer of over $209 million to 440 clubs as part of the Club Aid Program.

If reports are true, FIFA is set to reward 837 men’s players and clubs from 51 different countries for participating in last year’s tournament.

As Gianni Infantino said last year, Qatar FIFA World Cup is the most successful campaign. FIFA has made arrangements for compensation to the soccer clubs whose players represent their respective nations. The Club Aid Program is part of an agreement between FIFA and ECA that benefits 440 clubs from 51 member federations and the six confederations.?

Infantino said,?“The Club Aid Program is a clear example of how the FIFA World Cup benefits club football,”?speaking about the initiative. As per the agreement, each club receives $10,950 per day for each player, irrespective of the minutes played. FIFA divides the total and distributes it to all the clubs for which the player played two years before the final phase of the competition.?

The governing body paid compensation to 440 clubs for a total of 837 players. Of the 440 clubs, 78 belonged to the second division, 13 to the third division, five from the fourth, and one from the fifth division. The English Federation topped with 46 clubs and over $37 million in compensation. The Spanish Federation followed with 33 clubs and $24 million. The ECA speculates the compensation to go beyond $355 million for the 2026 edition.
