Megan Rapinoe is gearing up to play her final 90 minutes of her domestic career before hanging up her boots. The USWNT veteran has made an extensive plan for her retirement after a 14-year-long journey in soccer. Meanwhile, Rapinoe remarked on the future of her business prospects, after drawing curtains in her career.
The OL Reign star has actively advocated for equal pay and various social reforms for women in sports. Rapinoe is poised to shift her focus more to the growth of female athletes after her retirement. Additionally, the 38-year-old icon aspires to create a brand that strives for the development of women’s impact in sports.
Megan Rapinoe aims to expand her business goals after retirement

The WNT star aims to collaborate with Nike to endorse women’s soccer on a larger scale after the end of her career. Previously, Rapinoe already partnered with the $146.5 billion company for unique campaigns. The veteran forward served as the face to promote the gender-neutral outfits of the sports brand. The OL Reign star wants to expand such a culture of sports for the next generation with her partnership with Nike.
Rapinoe said in an interview, “I am really excited about what is coming next. I have an amazing partnership with Nike. That will go well beyond obviously, the last playing days. Which are coming soon. Really excited to continue to kind of shaped the way and changed the way that women athletes and female athletes are seen and viewed and marketed and branded.”
The Olympic gold medalist and her partner Sue Bird owned a production company, Touch More. The WNT legend aims to work extensively on her project with the company. Touch More narrates the stories of revolutionaries and transforms the media landscape with the new cultures of this generation.
Rapinoe also remarked on this note, “Sue and I have a production company and touch more together are both really excited to be to get more into that, now that we both have more time and see what kind of projects, we get off the ground.”
Additionally, the Chicago Red icon believes she achieved some success in pursuing diverse goals through her advocacy for female athletes.

The soccer icon made a huge difference for the women in sports.
Rapinoe wanted equal compensation for women and men players in U.S. soccer. She filed a lawsuit against the American Federation for pay discrimination for female athletes. The soccer icon played a prominent role in advocating for gender equality, which ultimately secured equal pay for USWNT after years of protest.
