The skipper bagged two goals; the first one in the first seven minutes and the other one towards the end with an outstanding free-kick. His goal kept Miami in the tournament till the penalty shoot, which they eventually won.

After the match, Messi celebrated the win by posting the pictures on his Instagram and writing a caption. Why did the reunion fail?

During a press conference featuring Suarez and Gremio’s vice-president of soccer, Antônio Brum asked about his potential move to Miami. Interestingly, Suarez replied, “As far as I understand they communicated with Gremio, and Gremio responded that I had a contract, and at this moment, there is no possibility.”

Due to a knee injury, the Uruguayan forward has opted to conclude his two-year tenure with Germio midway. Although Suarez wanted to play for the club for the required number of years, the striker insisted that “one must be honest with oneself with one’s body and with the club more than anything else.”
