Embracing the Real Madrid spirit, Jude Bellingham has already made a significant impact on the pitch. He recently notched his fourth consecutive match goal, matching a record held by Cristiano Ronaldo for 14 years. Surprisingly, in a resurfaced interview, the Englishman was seen choosing Messi over Ronaldo.

Cristiano Ronaldo‘s historic 2009 transfer to Real Madrid ignited an intense soccer rivalry with Lionel Messi, who was representing arch-rivals F.C. Barcelona at the time. These soccer legends not only elevated the stature of their respective clubs but also raised the level of competition in La Liga. Game after game, they shattered records, making their duels a spectacle. While doing so, the two soccer icons changed the sport completely.

The Englishman, who joined Real Madrid from Borussia Dortmund in a $111 million deal, has quickly become a fan favorite. Bellingham netted four goals and assisted one in three league matches for Los Blancos since the start of La Liga. But amid his remarkable achievements, a video from his Borussia Dortmund days has resurfaced.

In an old video, the current Real Madrid star was seen backing Lionel Messi as the greatest player of all time over Cristiano Ronaldo, reigniting an age-old debate. When asked, “Messi or Ronaldo?” the star replied, “Messi for me. You watch him and think, ‘How does he do that?’ Every time I watch him, he does something where I just think you can’t be human!”

The young Englishman joined Real Madrid this summer at just 20 years old and has already made his mark with six G+A in four games, showing a knack for rising to the occasion.

Real Madrid initially fell behind in their first game at the newly renovated Santiago Bernabeu stadium. However, thanks to the great teamwork of Luka Modric, Toni Kroos, and new star Jude Bellingham, they managed to come back and win the match, securing all three points.

Bellingham, 20, is now LaLiga’s top scorer with five goals – after emulating Ronaldo’s four-game scoring start. The Portugal legend amassed 450 goals and 120 assists in 438 matches for the Spanish giants from 2009-2018.
