The world of sport, which unifies humanity, is sometimes unable to have diversity. Recently, a silent spat between a former player and current Chelsea coach, Emma Hayes, has been trending in the media for the wrong reasons. Hayes has recently called out an issue stirred by a former Manchester City player’s comment and accused the system of keeping male privilege. But her response seems to have opened up old books now.

Hayes, who is one of the most successful coaches in women’s soccer, does provide expert analyses as well. However, the participation of women in men’s soccer was not a good idea, according to the former Manchester City player turned coach.

Joey Barton has recently been involved in tweeting against women speaking for men’s soccer. The player who feels women should not talk with any authority about men’s games has raised the eyebrows of many including Emma Hayes. Even though she did not bash the star directly, she said that the sport was suffering from misogyny and bullying in her recent take on the issue. However, this led social media to recall Barton’s 6-year-old tweet, in which he wrote that he would be happy to see Hayes in the men’s game.

The former midfielder added, “As the sport is getting wider, many lady experts and journalists have risen.” Now, Barton seemed to have flipped the story upside down with the controversial statements.

However, Hayes gave a response to his recent tweets, taking a generalized route. She said, “If I go all Darwinism on us and speak on evolutionary theory, when there is an existential threat, you either evolve or die,” calling for change in the system and avoiding destructive conversations. Hayes is also a well-appreciated pundit who will go to the United States in June next year.
