The date of the King Cup final is yet to be decided, but the hype is already through the roof. Al Nassr’s recent form has been astonishing as they thrashed Al Wehda 6-0. Captain Cristiano Ronaldo also roared back to form with a hat trick as well. Luis Castro’s team is peaking at the right time, but ahead of the tie, they have received a piece of interesting news. Doubts have crept up regarding Al Hilal star Malcom’s participation in the tie following a complaint filed against him.

Last week, Al Hilal overcame Al Ittihad to reach the final of the King Cup. During the game, Malcom went overboard with his celebrations. The attacker pumped his hands toward Al Ittihad supporters. While the gesture didn’t seem of much harm, it had an uncanny resemblance to Cristiano Ronaldo’s NSFW gesture against Al Shadab. Ronaldo’s gesture toward the fans landed him in trouble as he was fined and banned for two games. Surprisingly, Malcom didn’t any penalty for his act.

Moreover, it seemed like Malcom would be available for the King Cup Final. However, in a recent development, reports state that Al Ittihad has filed a complaint against Malcom. It is not yet known if any repercussions will follow. A player who has 20 goal contributions in 28 games is a threat for any team and Cristiano Ronaldo’s side would be happy if the Brazilian is absent. Regardless of the verdict, Al Nassr has an even bigger threat to deal with.

Al Hilal receives a significant boost ahead of Cristiano Ronaldo showdown

Al Hilal started the season on turbo boost but the momentum slowed somewhat in the last 2 months. The league toppers suffered their first-ever defeat of the season and got knocked out of the Champions League in April. A key reason behind the side’s loss of steam was the injury to Aleksandar Mitrovic. The Serbian suffered a hamstring injury in late March and was expected to miss nearly 2 months of action. Well, the striker has returned earlier than anticipated.

Mitrovic returned to action in the King Cup match against Al Ittihad. And he showed no signs of rust as he scored in both the league matches since. The striker has notched up 24 goals in 24 league matches this season. As Al Nassr was already on the backfoot having been beaten by Al Hilal thrice this season, Mitrovic’s presence has made the job much harder for Luis Castro and Co.
