Napoli’s Victor Osimhen might just be the most coveted striker in all of Europe. Perhaps, even in the world. As per the latest reports, Saudi Arabian club Al Hilal is willing to break the bank for the Napoli frontman. Al Hilal signed Brazilian forward Neymar earlier in this summer’s transfer window. But that was only after they submitted a bid for Osimhen, which culminated in a cheeky response from Napoli’s president Aurelio De Laurentiis. Now, it looks like Al Hilal could test Napoli’s resolve with a fresh and massive bid for the Nigerian striker.

Earlier in the summer, Al Hilal reportedly offered the Naples outfit $215 million for Osimhen. Napoli’s president, De Laurentiis, reportedly responded to Al Hilal’s offer humiliating them in an email that read, “Your $215 million offer can buy only one foot of Osimhen”. But as per recent reports, Al Hilal is preparing to match Napoli’s $211 million asking price despite De Laurentiis’ jibe in the summer.

Osimhen has been central to Napoli’s success last season. The Nigerian striker scored 26 goals in the Serie A last season leading to Napoli’s Scudetto triumph after a 33-year wait.

Now, as per a new report, Al Hilal is willing to offer Napoli $211 million in transfer fees and offer Osimhen a staggering $48 million per year in wages for a five-year contract. This has been revealed in a recent report in the Italian media outlet Gazzetta.

It’s certain that this new offer could tempt both Napoli and Osimhen, while relations between the striker and Napoli have gone south in light of the recent TikTok controversy.

Napoli mocked its own striker in a viral TikTok video

Earlier this week, Napoli’s social media team released a controversial video of Osimhen after he missed a penalty against Bologna. The incident prompted Osimhen to threaten to take legal action against the club.

Osimhen’s agent, Roberto Calenda, issued a statement about the video saying, “What happened today on Napoli’s official profile on the TikTok platform is not acceptable. A video mocking Victor was first made public and then, but now belatedly, deleted.”

“A serious fact that causes very serious damage to the player and adds to the treatment that the boy is suffering in the last period between media trials and fake news. We reserve the right to take legal action and any useful initiative to protect Victor.”

The controversy also led to British TV host Piers Morgan suggesting that Osimhen should join Arsenal. However, things are certainly on a knife edge between Napoli and Osimhen at the moment, and whether the Nigerian striker leaves the club in the near future whether to Al Hilal or elsewhere remains to be seen.
