However, it was Jamaica’s goalkeeper, Rebecca Spencer, who rose to the occasion for her side. While Brazil dominated the majority of the game, Spencer kept her team in the game. The Jamaican goalkeeper made 7 saves for her side in the contest, denying Brazil every time they shot on target.
With the knockout stages secured, Jamaica will now face either the topper from Group H in the R16. Both Germany and Columbia have done well in the group and could pose a big threat to the team in a potential knockout.
However, no matter the result, Jamaica has done a stunning job to make it this far in the tournament, despite their financial worries, and will be proud of their achievement.

However, Bob Marley’s daughter Cedella stepped up as she raised fundraisers for the team in an attempt to get the team on the global stage. Cedella has been affiliated with the team for the last 5 years helping the team find their footing.
