Ben Foster’s arrival at Wrexham benefited the club in all senses. The mighty keeper came out of retirement to lead the Welsh club to an emphatic promotion. They will be looking to repeat the feat once again. However, it is yet to be known if Foster will play another season. In fact, the gaffer, Phil Parkinson is set to have showdown talks with the promotion hero.
Recently, the 55-year-old opened up on the contract situation of Foster. “I wanted to let the euphoria of promotion and the lads’ Las Vegas trip go down first,” said Parkinson, who made the cut from the trip. “I will sit down with Ben in the next day or two and have a really good chat, and see what his thoughts are. We have got some good goalkeepers under contract as well so we will speak with Ben and make a decision which is right for him and right for us going forward,” he added.
While the club has already parted ways with 11 players, they are eager to keep hold of Foster for yet another season. The Red Dragons also announced the contract extensions of several stars, including Paul Mullin, Mark Howard, and Anthony Forde, by a season. The club will go through a big revamp and will be looking to make some key additions. In fact, they have already begun the process, as they recently agreed on a pre-contract with the A-League Champion.

It seems Wrexham are close to making their first signing of the season. Sources reveal that the Dragons have agreed to a verbal pre-contract with Melbourne City goalkeeper, Tom Glover. The 24-year-old recently won the domestic title with his current team in the Australian League. The news seems real after a netizen shared a picture on social media where Glover was following several Wrexham stars, including Ryan Reynolds, and the club’s account as well.

While nothing has been confirmed, fans are excited about the possibility of Glover being the first signing for the upcoming season. Moreover, it is indeed a great signing for Reynolds’ side, as the former Tottenham keeper has enough potential. Should Ben Foster commit to the Welsh side for another season, both will provide good depth between the sticks.
