The Reds were without the services of key players like Paul Mullin, Jordan Tunnicliffe, and midfielder Jordan Davies, before the start of their campaign. However, the manager confirmed their progress in the training and would soon be available for selection in the league fixture.

Phil Parkinson attributed the lack of rotational play and poor performance at the start of the season to the absence of key players from the squad. In this case, the Reds Dragons were optimistic about the chances of performing well in the upcoming fixtures as the players were returning to training after recovering from injuries. In an interview, Parkinson remarked, “We have got players coming back.
Davies is back next week, Mulls should be back, McClean and Hayden are back and Tunnicliffe is back in training so the squad is looking strong. If a player becomes available or we can get a deal over the line, great, but my main focus is on the group we have got.”
Aron Hayden, Wrexham’s central back made his first appearance since January after coming off the bench in the EFL Cup tie. Additionally, defender Jordan Tunnicliffe and midfielder Jordan Davis’s imminent progress also added to the relief for Parkinson as he was focused on strengthening the squad to progress in the league. Meanwhile, the return of their star striker in the squad was a boost for the team amidst the ill-fated start of the season.

Mullin’s return is a timely boost for Wrexham

Ryan Reynolds’ side had a horrific exit from the Carabao Cup second round with a defeat against Bradford City 4-3 in the penalty shootout. Wrexham was 16th in the league with just one win, three draws, and one loss. The season did go as expected for the National League supports to date. However, Paul Mullins’s presence in the training ground after months of recovering from a collapsed lung and four cracked ribs in a preseason game was a sign of hope for the club’s fortune.
Wrexham coach confirmed that Mullins was gradually running on the ground and finishing. However, he was not yet allowed to engage in any physical contact without complete recovery. As it stands, fans and the officials were hopeful that the squad would perform well with their match against Tranmere Rovers in League this Saturday with several players returning to the team.
