Now, their decade-long Saudi Arabian goalkeeper is leaving the club for rivals, Al Ittihad, after being second choice behind Yassine Bounou. With a lack of depth in the goalkeeping position, this move can soon come to haunt Al Hilal.
The former goalkeeper who is also a youth academy product of Al Hilal, played 149 games in his second stint for the club. The player is now set to join Karim Benzema’s Al Ittihad in favor of more playing time.

Abdullah Al Mayouf made a switch to arch-rivals, Al Ittihad, after finding himself out of favor with the manager, Jorge Jesus. The 36-year-old has also played for Al Ahli for whom he has made 78 appearances. With the signing of Al Mayouf, fans will be eager to see who will become the first-choice goalkeeper for Nuno Espirito Santos.
The situation around Al Mayouf got complicated after the club signed, Yassine Bounou, from Sevilla. And the Saudi Arabian goalkeeper has now set on a new challenge. This move marks the third club change for the $53,210 rated star.
