Manchester United’s legendary manager Sir Alex Ferguson used to have a Christmas tradition during his time at the club. One of the former star players Dimitar Berbatov has revealed that academy kids would also be involved. It entailed he academy players pretending to be one of the first team players. They would enact how the star players would behave or play. The former Bulgarian legend revealing more details said, “They took the p*** out of everyone: me, Wazza [Wayne Rooney], [Cristiano] Ronaldo, Rio [Ferdinand]. You need moments like this, for someone to humble you because you knew it was just fun.”.
Dimitar Berbatov also said that Sir Alex Ferguson and his coaching staff would make sure to serve the players Christmas dinner. This would help in building the team spirit during the festive period. During his time, the Bulgarian forward won eight trophies with the Red Devils. In his 149 matches, he scored 56 goals and provided 27 assists.
