Portuguese journalist Rui Santos has made the news following his recent comments. The journalist touched down on Cristiano Ronaldo’s recent comments and doubled down on his opinion. According to him, the Portuguese talisman is right to call out the quality present in Liga Portugal. He said, “We will see what happened to Cristiano Ronaldo with some notes that I would like to get”.

“He says the Portuguese league is not the top league and nor will it be. Cristiano Ronaldo says something that many times in the football bubble many people find difficult to accept. Therefore I think that, firstly it is a sign of those who are on the outside. But who has any concern about what’s going on inside.”

However, Santos did defend the league to some extent, claiming that Ronaldo is an ambassador of Saudi Arabia. The journalist added that everything Ronaldo says and does is to boost his image. “When he says the Saudi League is better than the Portuguese one. We have to be careful in this assessment and we have to understand something else. One of the reasons why Cristiano Ronaldo is in Saudi Arabia is to sponsor everything that happens in the Saudi Arabian League. Even in terms of his image and eventually even increasing it, right?”
