Luke Young recognized that there is a minimal margin of error in League Two and dropping points can prove detrimental to their campaign. He also added in the interview, The standard has gone up (since winning promotion) and we have had to raise our game. Until Stockport, we were slowly adapting to the step up and slowly finding our feet. This has been a step backward and something of a wake-up call.”

Wrexham suffers loss to Stockport County

Stockport County nullified Red Dragon’s impressive seven-match unbeaten streak with a resounding 5-0 victory. Isaac Olaofe’s hat trick secured the game for County. They exposed Wrexham’s sloppy backline, allowing opportunities to arise during the first half of the match. Mark Howard, the Wrexham goalkeeper, was vulnerable to Louie Barry and Paddy Madden while they added to their goal tally in the latter part of the game.

The Robbins managed to convert just five shots on targets throughout the entire match. Phil Parkinson’s men surrendered possession under pressure and managed to secure only 47% ball against the 9 place team in EFL. However, Wrexham fans and the co-owner are still optimistic that the team can elevate their gameplay and prepare themselves for the upcoming league fixtures against Crewe Alexandra on 30 September.
