Sergio Ramos cashes on ‘Best Horse’ in Spain

PSG star sold the horse to Saudi Federation recently for an undisclosed amount. Ramos bought the horse in 2021 for about $1.6 million and was co-owner with Spanish jockey Sergio Alvarez Moya.

It was one of the 50 horses on the Ramos’ stud farm. The horse won a host of prizes since 2021 and was labeled as ‘Best Horse’ in Spain. Saudi Arabia wants to improve its chances of medals in the Equestrian event of the Olympics and has won two bronzes in its history.

Saudi Arabia is taking various steps to promote the country and sports in the country. They are bidding for hosting the FIFA World Cup 2030. The signing of Cristiano Ronaldo is considered one of the steps to back their bid. Lionel Messi is also tied by the country in a multi-year million-dollar deal to promote Saudi tourism.

Despite selling the horse named Alamo, Ramos still has other great horses at the stud farm. One of those horses won the World Champion Spanish Thoroughbred in November 2018. PSG star, who recently visited Saudi Arabia for the friendly, is out of contract at the end of the season and is strongly linked with a move to Saudi Arabia.
