All these achievements have helped Modric accumulate a net worth of $75 million. But the Ballon d’Or winner might not be one to show interest in investing in companies. He has invested in a sports startup company named ‘Sportening’.

Luka Modric helped raise $7 million

Sportening was founded back in 2020 in Modric’s home country. This Croatia-based company aims to provide a “one-stop shop” for sports fans, with news, highlights, and analysis all in one place. There is also a social media component where users can share photos and comments. The company managed to raise $7 million in funding. It is all thanks to the investment from Luka Modric.

However, Modric is not the only one involved as an investor in this company. PayPal’s co-founder, Peter Thiel, has also been a long-term investor in this company. Along with Sacha Dragic. founder of the Superbet Group. All these investors have helped the company to become a promising startup in the sports industry.

Sportening can also expand to NBA and NFL

The company has already signed deals with a number of professional sports leagues and clubs, including the Croatian football club Dinamo Zagreb, which Modric used to play for. The primary target audience of Sportening has been soccer fans. But the company is also pushing to serve the NBA and NFL fans too.
