However, it did seem like everyone’s respect for the NBA star increased after that interview. It was a frustrating day for the Bucks, and Giannis was rightfully upset with everything around him. However, the tides have suddenly turned. Recently, Real Madrid coach, Carlo Ancelotti, lauded Giannis for one of his comments during the same press conference.

The soccer manager was seemingly extremely impressed with the basketballer’s instinctive and candid response to a seemingly ‘stupid’ question from a journalist.

Carlo Ancelotti recently surprised the soccer universe with his cross-sport support for Giannis. While that epic but awkward press conference moment had faded away from people’s memory, Ancelotti made sure that he praised something that truly deserved it. The Real Madrid boss didn’t beat around the bush at all.

He was quite straightforward with his words. His comments were in response to Giannis’ ‘failure’ comment. Ancelotti affirmatively said, “What Antetokounmpo said was fantastic. I think in 100% the same way as him. In sport you can’t talk about failure, and in life you can’t talk about failure. Failure is when you don’t try to do something as well as you can”, as per ESPN.

“When you try to do your best, you have a clear conscience, and that’s never a failure, not just in sport but in life. In sport, you lose a lot more often than you win”. Ancelotti then concluded by saying that he has won tons of trophies throughout his career. But if he had to include the ones that he missed out on winning, he wouldn’t have a cabinet anymore. His collection would be as huge as a house.
