The latest interview of Arsenal soccer legend Thierry Henry and NBA legend Allen Iverson is refreshing to watch. The two legendary athletes sat down candidly to discuss Iverson’s life with basketball. In one of the many splendid moments, Henry pointed out the 2000/01 MVP-winning season to be the best. Moreover, he failed to believe the quality he showcased during that time and explained how he floated in the air. When you dive deeper, Iverson always had a spring in his step, and like most players, he loved Michael Jordan.
MJ was the master of floating in the air, and ‘His Airness’ could fly. Thus, the 2000/01 season of Iverson is one to remember for ages, as said by Henry.

Surprised at the season, Henry described it as, “This guy is floating”- Arsenal soccer legend failed to believe Allen Iverson’s dominance in legendary 2000/01 MVP season.” He is one of the several point guards who could dunk the ball with authority. MJ did it in his prime after flying off from the free-throw line to dunk the ball.
However, Iverson used the hang time to make Houdini layups during phases of play. He could float in the air to make beautiful plays while in the air. Not an easy feat in any way possible.
During that season, Iverson went on a rampaging run. He averaged 31.1 points, created 4.6 assists, and had 2.5 steals, pickpocketing his way to the 2001 NBA finals. However, he failed at the last hurdle when Kobe Bryant and Shaquille O’Neal won the series 4-1 to end his dream run. There has never been a basketball team closer to a one-man team than that one. Iverson could score from mid-range, stood ice-cool while shooting free throws, and dribbled his way to the top.
Allen shared in an interview that Michael was the principal source of inspiration.

According to GQ Sports, Iverson stated, “I learned from Mike. I always looked at him like a superhero. That was my guy. The way he wore his wristband, the bald head. I used to like it when he had that bald head with the goatee and the brace around his shin on his calf. The man was my hero.”
Allen recalled a story where he wanted to defend Jordan from Detroit’s Bad Boy Pistons at the peak of their rivalry. Pundits and fans believe they treated Jordan aggressively while playing basketball and irked fans.
The term floating and Jordan is synonymous with each other. He was the best dunker of his time, and his free-throw line dunk remains impressive, even today. He finally revealed how Jordan motivated his aspiration to become a basketball player. Allen continued, “He gave me the vision to be a basketball player.” To sum up, everyone loves Jordan. The passion he had for the game is irreplaceable, but Al comes close!
