In the last few months, Saudi Arabia has suddenly become extremely relevant in the soccer universe. That simply happened after Cristiano Ronaldo shockingly moved out of Europe to continue his career. While his decision has still left the fans baffled, the Real Madrid legend just confirmed that he was quite happy in the country. While Lionel Messi ‘could’ also move to Saudi, the fans are still trying to wrap their head around the Saudi Pro League.
An NBA veteran recently poked some fun at the soccer legends while also contemplating a career change. It was none other than Giannis Antetokounmpo who attempted to lighten the tension. Funnily, he offered his services too to any soccer team who was looking for squad cover.
What did Giannis Antetokounmpo say?

Over the years, NBA players have always shared a very close bond with the soccer universe. Seemingly, it’s just like both the fanbases go hand-in-hand during joyful and even tough times. In fact, either set of fanbases has also compared their players on several occasions. Due to his ball control and easy-on-the-eye movement, Lionel Messi is funnily called the Stephen Curry of the NBA.
Interestingly, one of the NBA’s very own stars, Giannis Antetokounmpo, made an interesting admission. Currently at the Milwaukee Bucks, the Greek Freak hasn’t been able to repeat his 2021 brilliance ever since. However, the pro-basketballer is often active on social media. Looks like the hundreds of millions offered to soccer players from Saudi clubs have enticed Antetokounmpo ahead of a busy transfer window.
I was just sitting on my couch scrolling through For you page. Messi Ronaldo and Benzema. If you’re looking for a goalie for next season, let me know. 😂😂😂

On Twitter, he wrote, “I was just sitting on my couch scrolling through For you page. Messi Ronaldo and Benzema. If you’re looking for a goalie for next season, let me know”. Interestingly, the 2021 NBA Champion has jokingly offered his services as a goalkeeper. Honestly, a 6ft 11in goalkeeper would be quite interesting!
On the other hand, what is happening with Ronaldo and Messi in relation to Saudi Arabia? Let’s dive deeper.
While Ronaldo is already in Saudi, could Lionel Messi join him?
Just weeks ago, Cristiano Ronaldo was reportedly ‘unhappy’ in the Middle East. Eyeing a return to Europe, the soccer veteran was tired of the lifestyle. But he cut short all the rumors with his recent comments. After a long-time, he addressed the fanbase directly. He conveyed that he was ‘comfortable’ at Al-Nassr even after not winning a trophy.
On the other hand, Lionel Messi currently has three options. As per Fabrizio Romano, FC Barcelona is working hard with his father to get him back to the club. Other than that, Messi also has offers from Al-Hilal and Inter Miami. There is a really narrow chance that the Argentine takes up the Saudi-based soccer club on their gigantic offer.
