The next generation is ready to take over the mantle from the likes of Megan Rapinoe and Alex Morgan in USWNT. Washington Spirit sensation, Trinity Rodman, is the name making buzz in US women’s soccer after becoming the highest-paid NWSL player before turning 20. Trinity is the daughter of the NBA Hall of Famer Dennis Rodman and draws inspiration from his never give up attitude.?

Trinity made it to the NWSL as the youngest drafted player without even playing University soccer at 18. However, she registered for Washington State University for a few months, as it was mandatory to go through the college draft to play in NWSL. She wasn’t able to play University soccer as no matches happened because of the COVID pandemic.

Spirit’s soccer sensation has made a name for herself by winning the Rookie of the Year and US Soccer Young Female Player of the Year in her first professional season in 2021. She also won the NWSL with the Washington Spirit in her first season and made it to the NWSL Best XI the same year.?

Trinity Rodman was happy to see Dennis Rodman attending her game

Back in 2021, Dennis Rodman was in attendance for the playoff game of the Washington Spirit. Spirit beat OL Reign in the semifinals and then Chicago Red Stars in the finals. Trinity scored against OL Reigns and assisted the match-winner against Red Stars, becoming the youngest-ever player to assist in a playoff.?

We saw Dennis Rodman, a proud father, after her daughter’s performance in the playoff. Trinity, while speaking to the CBS Mornings last year, revealed her thoughts on NBA great in attendance.?“It meant the world for him to be at the game. He was emotional. I was emotional just to see how proud he was of me knowing that, like that’s my daughter that just did that at 19.”

However, Trinity does not boast a great relationship with her father. She has already opened up in her Instagram post back in 2021 about their relationship. Dennis Rodman said once that he has to convince himself as a good father, and it’s the biggest demon of his life.?

Michelle Rodman, Trinity’s mother, is her role model

For Trinity, her mother has been the support system throughout her soccer journey as a kid. She is a role model for her despite not being a famous athlete or personality. Trinity thinks her mother, despite being not an athlete, is very competitive and has an extremely driven mindset.?

She feels very close to her mother and attributes her competitiveness to her mother instead of her father. Michelle certainly has raised a fine soccer player ready to take the mantle of the US women’s soccer. Trinity will hope to be part of this year’s FIFA Women’s World Cup.?
