In the last two days, every sports fan’s eyes were graced with two monumental achievements in the field of sports. The celebrations started when LeBron James broke the record for the most points in the NBA, a few days ago. It was followed by Cristiano Ronaldo scoring the 500 goal of his long illustrious career. However, he raised quite an interesting point that could be worth pondering.
Soccer legend questions NBA’s credibility!
Kevin Kilbane recently posted his controversial opinion via his Twitter. Kilbane is a former Irish soccer player. He has quite a fan following back home in Ireland. The agile wingback also won 110 caps for Ireland, the fourth most in the country’s soccer history. Kilbane did not have a problem with LeBron James’ achievement. He congratulated him too.
What sort of credibility can a sport have if a game just stops when a record is broke. Great achievement but Utterly ridiculous! https://t.co/eLkYUOhKIH

However, the Irish soccer legend had a problem with the game being stopped to celebrate the achievement. Kilbane reposted the famous video in which LeBron James celebrates his achievement during the game. The soccer legend writes, “What sort of credibility can a sport have if a game just stops when a record is broke. Great achievement but Utterly ridiculous!”.
I agree with you, but I think this moment was just as ridiculous. Terry got a guard of honour in the 26th min of his last match. Where's the credibility here? pic.twitter.com/W8IKjqu3RX

Following this, a few NBA fans did take offense when Kilbane questioned the credibility of the game. However, a few smart fans shared a video of Chelsea FC legend, John Terry receiving a proper send-off during play. The English soccer star was subbed off in the 26 minute, and his teammates tunneled around him and gave him the guard of honor. They then went on to dismiss Kilbane’s claim by calling it a ridiculous take.
However, all these opinions should definitely not take off any shine from LeBron James’ significant milestone.

The NBA all-star recently managed to break a 39-year-old record. About four decades ago, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar set an all-time points record. At that time, no fan would have ever believed that this record could be broken. Even NBA legend, Michael Jordan was in awe of James’ hard work and passion for the game. In a rare statement with the Mirror, MJ said, “Congratulations to LeBron on this incredible achievement. It’s a testament to his hard work, longevity, and his great skill”.
However, it is important to remember that LeBron James is not getting any younger. Recent reports already suggest that the NBA legend will look to cross a total of 40,000 points in his career and then call it a day. Over the years, the 38-year-old has created a monumental legacy in the NBA that the fans will never forget it for the coming decades.
