There are very few women soccer players who receive praise from rival players or managers. NBA legend Dennis Rodman’s daughter Trinity Rodman is one of them. The rival manager admired the 20-year-old after her display in an NWSL game recently.

Rodman is making a name for herself since her professional debut in 2021 for Washington Spirit. Her first season was memorable as Rodman won NWSL Rookie of the Year in her first season and was named in the NWSL Best XI of the Season. Rodman earned her first international cap thanks to her first season at Spirit.

San Diego Wave FC manager hails Trinity Rodman

The Spirit forward has started a season significantly. Praised for her speed, agility, and technical skills, Rodman is attracting praise from soccer fans and rivals on the pitch. Rodman has three goals and two assists in NWSL for Spirit, who is third in the table. Spirit beat Alex Morgan’s San Diego Wave FC emphatically, with Rodman scoring one goal and assisting another.

When Wave manager Casey Stoney was asked about stopping Trinity Rodman after the game, she said“It’s very difficult.” “Trinity Rodman is probably one of the hardest working forwards I’ve ever seen live in person. Obviously, she’s got pace. She’s got the ability to run with a ball. She can carry the ball, but she tracks back,” Stoney added, praising her all-round abilities on the field.

Stoney feels the US has an efficient player on their cards. She feels Trinity Rodman should make it to the USWNT roster for the FIFA Women’s World Cup this year. “She’s a very efficient player. The US will be lucky if she’s selected for the World Cup because they get to take her.” Stoney was critical of the performance of Wave players after Spirit beat them 3-1. San Diego Wave will look to bounce back from the defeat next week when they take on Kansas City Current.
