It was quite an eventful match, as both sides finally played the much awaited game of the pre-season. In 2019, Durant sent shockwaves through the basketball world after making a huge statement regarding his retirement. While speaking to Serge Ibaka, the NBA star addressed the question of him playing in Europe someday. Durant said, “I would like to play my last year at Barca, the EuroLeague is the second-best league in the world.” Today, he still hasn’t moved to Europe. But recently, El Mundo Deportivo interviewed him and inquired about the possibility of a short-term stint in the EuroLeague.

Durant responded with a lighthearted tone, explaining that his previous remarks to Serge Ibaka were made with a different mindset. At that time, he had just experienced two NBA championship seasons, and he felt that there was little left to achieve in the highly competitive NBA, the world’s premier basketball league. While flaunting having a lot of friends there, Durant revealed he “doubts” whether it will happen, but insists it “sounded good” when he said it.
