The NBA star wants the Argentine legend Lionel Messi to lift the World Cup ahead of Kylian Mbappe. Although, he is heartbroken as his favorite team and player didn’t make it to the finals.

Jimmy Butler rooted for Brazil and Neymar to win the FIFA World Cup

The American professional basketball player loves soccer and plays the sport when he gets time. He fell in love with the game when he saw Brazil winning gold at the Rio Olympics after Neymar scored the decisive penalty in the shootout.

He is a wonderful friend of Neymar and used to wear Neymar gear all the time after the Gold medal match.

Recently, when asked about the FIFA World Cup final, Butler said,?“I am not actually. I am not. Brazil is out, I am heartbroken. But I do want Messi to win it, I will say that. But, I wanted Neymar to win.”

Butler wanted Brazil to go all the way through. Although, Neymar and Brazil crashed out of the tournament after losing to Croatia on penalties in the quarterfinal. Butler recently donned a Santos FC jersey during an NBA game.

He also showed his support for Senegal by wearing the jersey before the World Cup. Butler is also a good friend of French star Paul Pogba.
