On Saturday, the Los Angeles Lakers and Boston Celtics played an epic game that went into overtime. In the overtime period, they hit Lakers player Patrick Beverley with a technical foul that was very unusual. This technical foul has gotten people talking not only in the basketball world but also among soccer fans.

It all started when both teams were level in the match. Lakers star LeBron James went for a layup that could have possibly sealed the victory, but an obvious foul by Celtic’s Jayson Tatum stopped him. The referee surprisingly didn’t give the foul, and the match went into overtime, and the Lakers ended up losing the match.

The soccer world also caught the wind of Patrick Beverley’s bizarre technical foul. Soccer journalist Meg Linehan took to Twitter asking people, “what NWSL player picks up a yellow for this and why is it someone on the reign”.
Fans quickly gave their thoughts on which U.S. women’s soccer could replicate Patrick Beverley’s actions. World Cup winner Megan Rapinoe was leading the discussion. While fans also named Welsh soccer player Jess Fishlock as one of the strong candidates along with many other big names of the NWSL.
