In a recent press conference, Guardiola had to face the question about his recent UCL failures. The legendary manager decided to pull up examples of legends to make his argument. The following statement is from the press conference where he used the names of Michael Jordan and Jack Nicklaus.

Manchester City manager said, “Yesterday, it was the Masters. How many Masters has Jack Nicklaus played or how many majors has he played in his career? In 30 or 40 years as a golfer? In 30 or 40 years as a golfer of four majors, like in the Champions League. How many wins? 18 wins. Wow! He loses more than he wins. That is sport. In football, in golf, in basketball; Michael Jordan, the best athlete for me in basketball, won six NBA titles out of 15 [seasons]. He loses more than he wins. This game, all games, are so difficult.

Guardiola hasn’t won the Champions League ever since doing it with Barcelona in 2009 and 2011. It would be an understatement to say he is under pressure to convert this one. With the team in an insane form, this is a perfect chance for Guardiola to win the prestigious silverware again.
