Rafael Nadal is set to play an exhibition game in Brazil later this month. Brazilian fans will be able to watch him play Casper Ruud in Belo Horizonte. This is the first time Nadal will be visiting Brazil since winning the Gold medal at the Rio Olympics. But he will be cheering for the Spanish national team in the Qatar WC from Brazil.

Rafael Nadal reveals his favorites for the 2022 FIFA WC
The 36-year-old tennis superstar recently appeared for an interview with the Brazilian newspaper O Globo. During the interview, he discussed the Qatar WC and named his favorites for the competition.
“It’s difficult,” Nadal said when asked about his predictions for the Qatar WC. “The World Cup is a very difficult competition to predict. I would say the favorites are Brazil, Argentina, France, Germany, Portugal, and Spain. There are many games, but these are the favorites, although there is always a chance for some surprise.”

While Nadal’s first love is Spain, he knows that there are some strong teams out there. Brazil and Argentina have been in great form in the past few years and will be preparing to go all the way in the WC. Defending champions France has a star-studded team alongside Germany and Spain. Portugal wasn’t at their best during the qualifiers, but they have the likes of Ronaldo and Bruno Fernandes, who can deliver the trophy next month.

The 36-year-old star is a huge Real Madrid fan. He has watched several Madrid games from the stands, supporting the club through thick and thin. During the interview, Rafael Nadal also talked about Los Blancos’ UCL win earlier this year.

“I’m happy because Madrid won the League and the Champions League,” Nadal told O Globo. “We are a young and exciting team. We have Vinicius Jr. and Rodrygo, who are having an incredible season, and there’s (Éder) the Militão too. I’m very happy with the Brazilians on the team.”
Indeed, the Brazilian players were influential in Madrid last season and helped them win the UCL and La Liga. Vinicius and Militao will have the responsibility to lead the forward line for Brazil in the upcoming FIFA WC. Militao has been in top form this season and will be looking forward to solidifying his position in the back line.
