John Millman was a part of Australia’s Davis Cup team for the 2017 edition. He helped them reach the semi-finals, where they lost 3-2 to Belgium. Millman called out Pique on social media over his recent comments to appeal to a young audience in soccer.

Gerard Pique’s Kosmos Holding has stuck a 25-year partnership with the International Tennis Federation to transform the Davis Cup. The sports investment group will focus on the growth of the game and generate revenues for the future of the game.
For the 2019 edition of the Davis Cup, the format was modified. The World Group took place at one place in one week, with 18 teams divided into six round-robin groups.
