“Hate You for Everything You Did to Shakira” – Gerard Pique Lambasted by Journalist, 15 Months After Parting Ways With Colombian Singer

Gerard Pique and Shakira, the former celebratory couple, admired by many, parted ways in June 2022. Shortly thereafter, rumors of Pique’s infidelity began to spread. Ever since then, the 36-year-old has faced the wrath of the Colombian pop star’s fans. Fifteen months after their split, the Spanish star faced another heavy blow when a journalist publicly called him out for cheating on his former partner.

From being a celebrated soccer star in Barcelona, Pique’s popularity has taken quite a dip in other parts of the world. On this note, Gerard Pique received harsh treatment from a popular journalist, who couldn’t resist confronting him about what he did to the pop star.

 Mexican Journalist yelled at Gerard Pique

The former defender’s trip to Mexico to fulfil his duties related to the Kings League was marked by reminders of his infidelity. When Pique reached Mexico, he was surrounded by journalists who asked him about his breakup with Shakira. However, the Spanish center-back chose silence to deal with the situation.

A Mexican Journalist named Claudia Maldonado was not ready to accept Pique’s silence. As per the report of El Tiempo, the journalist yelled at Piqué, saying, “Hey, they already hate you for everything you did to Shakira, and now you’re behaving like that with the press?”

After listening to the journalist, Pique was stunned for a moment. However, he soon got inside his car, which waited for him outside the restaurant. Even after receiving such harsh criticism from the journalist, Pique didn’t utter a word in response.

The Spanish star’s fallout with Shakira

Shakira has previously revealed that she grew up watching the love between her parents. Her parents have been together for close to fifty years. The Barranquilla native may have expected the same from her relationship with the former Spanish soccer star. However, Pique cheated on Shakira with his current girlfriend, Clara Chia, when her father was admitted to the ICU.

When Shakira came to know about Pique’s infidelity, she self-admittedly went through one of her darkest phases in life and separated from the Spaniard. Almost two years later, Shakira is thriving in her music career and Pique is focusing on the Kings League, as bust ups between the two still continue to dominate headlines.
