Finally, the question that the whole soccer world has been asking is answered! Lionel Messi is going to play for Inter Miami. The soccer legend set the whole internet ablaze as he rejected a billion-dollar move and signed for David Beckham’s franchise. Following the path of golf legend Tiger Woods, who also once did something similar, the Argentinian put all the rumors to bed and did not accept the whopping offer.
It also came as a shock to see him reject such a big-money move and choose to play for less of an offer. However, moments before Messi signed for Miami, he reportedly got another lucrative counteroffer from the Saudi Arabian league.

Messi already received an offer of $1.2 billion from Al Hilal for two seasons. But, that too, was rejected by the player. It somehow enticed the Saudi Pro League side to make him another offer many wouldn’t refuse. They went full-on Godfather in this one, but only to see another rejection from the 35-year-old.

As per the reports from Spanish journalist Helena Condis, Al Hilal offered Messi $1.6 billion for three seasons. A negative response came from his camp, as they had already set their hearts on the MLS. Moreover, his wife, Antonela Roccuzzo, had already influenced the World Cup winner to shake hands with Beckham.
Indeed, it was yet another brilliant offer from Al Hilal that Messi didn’t choose. His decision also left the mouths of Barcelona fans bitter. The Blaugrana were hoping to get Messi back at Camp Nou, but that train had already left the station.
Speaking of lucrative offers from Saudi, legendary golfer Tiger Woods was once offered an eye-watering amount to play in the LIV golf tournament. It was much lesser than what Messi was reportedly offered but was still a massive proposal.
When Tiger Woods rejected an enormous offer from Saudi
While it was quite an audacious offer from Al Hilal for Messi, it also surpasses what they offered Tiger Woods for leaving the PGA. Earlier, reports came out that Saudi-backed LIV had offered humongous sums to many golf stars, including Tiger Woods, to join their ranks. They offered almost $800 million to the legendary golfer.

Woods rejected that offer, and he stayed with the PGA for a lower amount. And now, the rejection seems to have backfired, as PGA and LIV have now merged. Nevertheless, speaking of the offer he got, Messi was offered twice what Woods was being offered. Indeed, it is quite an interesting series of incidents that are happening in the sports world.
