The recent months have seen athletes worldwide dip their feet into unique ventures. It seems like Manchester City star John Stones latched onto the trend. The Englishman took a crucial decision this week with the player making an undisclosed investment into Tiger Woods‘ TGL. Stones is not the first soccer star to invest in the indoor golf league, with USWNT icon Alex Morgan also announcing her investment in the league in 2023.

In addition, Formula 1 driver Alex Albon will join Stones, with Apex Capital leading the deal. Surfers Leonardo Fioravanti and Kanoa Igarashi have also announced their presence on the contract. The players will come together in the coming months during charity events to help bolster their team’s fanbase.

TGL has been making waves ever since its announcement last year. The indoor golf league is set to kick-start in 2025, with six teams competing for the inaugural title. Notably, the likes of Serena Williams, Giannis Antetokounmpo, and Steph Curry have already joined the project, making it into one of the most highly anticipated leagues for the upcoming year.

According to reports from Bloomberg, the Apex Capital-led group will invest in the San Francisco franchise. It is a major move from the Manchester City star with Tiger Woods’ project, attracting eyeballs in recent months.

San Diego Waves star Alex Morgan also boarded the TGL train last year to expand her business portfolio. The USWNT legend took to social media to announce her partnership with the Los Angeles Golf Club. In fact, she is one of the sensible investors in soccer.
