Gareth Bale is already working on the next step in his career after retiring from soccer earlier this month. The former Welsh winger is ready to make his PGA Tour debut next month as an amateur in Pebble Beach Pro-Am. His love for golf is well known since his Real Madrid days, and his golf skills have impressed Jon Rahm.

Welsh soccer legend announced his retirement from all forms of soccer earlier this month after a disappointing FIFA World Cup for Wales. It was speculated the former Real Madrid player will hang around till the 2024 Euro. However, Bale surprised everyone by announcing his retirement and is now preparing for his PGA Tour debut in California.
Jon Rahm left in awe with the golf skills of Gareth Bale
Bale and Rahm played a round of nine holes at Torrey Pines in California. Bale is preparing for his debut as an amateur in PGA Tour in February. However, the matchup between the two left current World No. 3 impressed who heaped praise on the former soccer star.
Rahm said, “You can’t be so good at professional football and golf at the same time. It just doesn’t seem fair, and have this much talent for golf,” praising the Welshman. “The second he’s done, and he can actually practice more, and he’s going to get a lot better.”

Rahm enjoyed his time with the former Tottenham Hotspur man ahead of this week’s Farmers Insurance Open. “We had a great time. We had a great nine holes. I wish every time I played a pro-am, I had a group that entertaining because those nine holes went by very quickly, and laughed a lot.”
Rahm believes Bale is too good for the amateur level and doesn’t need any tips from him. Bale is ready for his debut and will play in more amateur tournaments, according to the former US Open Champion. It will be interesting to see how Bale’s golf career kicks off next month.

Bale made a then-world-record move to Real Madrid in 2013. Madridistas are one of the most demanding soccer fans and Bale became a fan favorite after forming a lethal BBC trio with Karim Benzema and Cristiano Ronaldo. However, in the latter part of his Real Madrid career, injuries kept the Welshman away from soccer action.
It was a turning point as Los Blancos fans grew impatient with five times UEFA Champions League winner. But what made fans angry was the player, whenever out injured, kept playing golf that time. Moreover, the Welshman smiled at a banner saying, “Wales, Golf, Real Madrid- in that order,” which further provoked the Madridistas.
