Just days after Maradona’s death, an Iranian philosopher gave a jaw-dropping interview about his philosophies. He did not shy away from comparing the careers of both Maradona and Muhammad Ali.

Soccer legend Maradona and Boxing legend Muhammad Ali will never die

The person in the limelight here is Professor Adib-Moghaddam. He specializes in global thought and comparative philosophies. After Maradona’s untimely passing, he took that opportunity to educate the soccer universe about his deep thoughts. He started off by quoting, “Maradona had something that one rarely finds in any human being”.

The professor claimed that “legends don’t really ever die”. It is a mixture of their legendary status and every attribute that keeps them alive. Maradona’s ‘metaphysical’ aura is exactly what keeps him alive. He claimed that after a certain point, it isn’t about the sport anymore. For the simple reason that “These giants of human history leave such indelible marks on the lives of people, that heaves this repository of common sentiments beyond time and space”.

Another reason why Maradona’s legacy is everlasting is because he was always himself. He never pretended to be someone else. In today’s generation, everyone likes to lead two separate lives, one social and one private. The Argentine soccer legend remained true to his background and principles. Unlike today’s world, he never had the likes of Instagram and other social media platforms. As a matter of fact, he mainly functioned with a ‘take it on the chin attitude’.
