Megan Rapinoe recently brought out her inner Shaquille O’Neal. On February 16th, USWNT faced off against Canada on match day 1 of the SheBelieves Cup. Even though Rapinoe didn’t see any action on the field, Rapinoe’s spirit was surely present on the sidelines and in the locker room.

Ahead of the SheBelieves Cup game, Rapinoe channelized her inner Shaquille O’Neal from the NBA All-Stars game in 2000. On Instagram, the USWNT shared a picture of Rapinoe arriving at the stadium with a camera in hand while making faces.
The image was also compared to that of NBA legend Shaquille O’Neal, who famously pulled out a camera to watch then- Toronto Raptors guard Vince Carter during the 2000 NBA All-Star Game. The resemblance between the two pictures is uncanny, and Rapinoe’s sense of humor is on full display.

The internet had a field day with the image, and it was the perfect way to kick off the SheBelieves Cup for the USWNT. The USWNT went on to win the match 2-0 thanks to the brace from Mallory Swanson, with Rapinoe not making an appearance on the field.
The SheBelieves Cup is an important tournament for the USWNT. And they will certainly be looking to continue their winning ways on February 19th when they take on Japan in their second match. With the whole team looking strong, there is no doubt that they have a good chance of doing so

In other words, the guy knows a thing or two about winning.
So, when Shaq was asked about his thoughts on the sport of soccer, his response was quite interesting. “All it is running and kicking,” Shaq said. It is clear that The Los Angeles Lakers legend is not a big soccer fan. However, that does not mean he does not respect the athletes who play the sport.
