Fans have seen celebrities receiving jaw-droppingly expensive gifts for their birthdays. However, the Beckhams were on the news in 2013, after David Beckham’s wife gifted him a Magic Johnson jersey.

Magic Johnson is still regarded as the greatest point guard of all time. Magic Johnson obliged and signed a jersey for David Beckham for his birthday in 2013.

David Beckham turned 37 that year. Victoria Beckham took the internet by surprise after she gifted him the NBA legend, Magic Johnson’s jersey. What made it even more special was that the jersey was signed by the NBA star himself. Victoria was the first to post about the gift on social media. She posted a picture of the signed jersey on her Twitter. She wrote, “What do u get David for his birthday???? he loved it!!! X vb”.

The Manchester United soccer legend also posted about his gift. David confirmed on social media that this was the best birthday present. He posted a picture of him holding onto the frame. He wrote the caption, “Best birthday present ever!!”.

A few days prior to his birthday, David and Victoria were at a Lakers game. However, the celebrity couple went viral during the game for other reasons. During the game, the cameras suddenly panned on the celebrity couple. However, to everyone’s surprise, it was the kiss cam. David did not hesitate and leaned in for a quick kiss.

After a quiet end to his Real Madrid stint, Beckham made the move to the US. However, every soccer fan was shocked and couldn’t believe why Beckham would choose to play soccer in America.

In his first interview as an LA Galaxy player, Beckham revealed the real reason for joining the club. He told ESPN, “With me, it’s about football. I’m coming there to make a difference. I’m coming there to play football”. He continued, “I’m not saying me coming over to the States is going to make soccer the biggest sport in America. That would be difficult to achieve. But I wouldn’t be doing this if I didn’t think I could make a difference”.

No doubt, Beckham made a massive difference to soccer in the US. After Beckham’s arrival, the MLS got much more recognition than usual. Fans from all over the world suddenly wanted to watch the MLS. The soccer legend also extended his fanbase to America, during that time.

However, that wasn’t it. A year after retiring, Beckham returned to the US. The soccer legend purchased Inter Miami CF for $25 million and the rest is history.
