Hollywood owners of Wrexham AFC took over the club in February 2021. Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney have been invested in the club since then. But the owners haven’t only spent within the club. They have gone beyond the club and also invested in the Wrexham community. The owners got praised for their passion by the community and the players.

Reynolds and McElhenney have been clear about their vision for the club from day one. They want to build a club that will be a world-beater in a few years. The A-listers have been in touch with the players since their takeover. Recently, the star striker shed light on how the owners are supportive of the club’s players and are easily accessible too.

Paul Mullin praises Ryan Reynolds

Mullin was speaking to the PA news agency recently. He shared an incident from January this year when his son was diagnosed with autism and how Reynolds quickly reached out and supported him during that period. “My little lad was sick and Ryan came over to help, to try to make him better,” Mullin told the PA news agency.

“That’s the type of people they are, really cool people. They care about the players, the families, the staff, and the club, more importantly. It’s nice of them as owners to keep in touch with the lads and check on how they are getting on. It means you’re going to produce for them on the pitch if you’re happy off it,” Mullin added, praising the owners.

McElhenney persuaded Mullin in 2021 summer to join Wrexham. Mullin was playing for Cambridge United in League Two. He helped United to gain promotion to League One, winning the Golden Boot in the 2020-21 campaign.

Despite having a chance to play in the third tier, the forward opted to play for the fifth-tier club. It looks like signing Mullin was a masterstroke from the owners, as the club is in line for promotion this season thanks to his goals.
