Defending Premier League champions Manchester City might face stiff competition in the coming months, with the side hoping to land a deal for Bayern star Joshua Kimmich. According to reports, Liverpool and PSG are also interested in signing the player and could hijack City’s deal.

Manchester City is very keen on getting a deal in place with Kimmich, with Pep Guardiola said to be excited about bringing the midfielder to the Etihad Stadium. The Spaniard has worked alongside the player during his time with the Bavarians and believes the German perfectly fits his system at the club.

However, with Liverpool and PSG into the fray, things could take a turn in any direction. Moreover, Kimmich’s contract with Bayern expires in 2025. The side could decide to cash in on the player come summer, as he has yet to agree to sign a new deal with the club. The German star is reportedly frustrated with his position at the club and has not relished operating alongside Thomas Tuchel.

Notably, Kimmich was among the players who verbally expressed his dissatisfaction following the manager’s departure, stating it was a surprise the club sacked Nagelsmann as he had not lost the locker room despite a rough string of games. Nagelsmann’s successor, Thomas Tuchel, has had a hard time winning over Kimmich, with his criticism of the player’s play style not helping his case either.
