The content updates for The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim continues to grow as Bethesda revealed another one as part of the game’s anniversary. The Anniversary Edition upgrade for the popular RPG title includes tons of Creation Club content with around 500 DLCs for players to check out as the game celebrates its tenth year of existence.
Along with that, the game also has a lot of improved gameplay features. Players on the PlayStation 5 and the Xbox Series X can expect to see some massive upgrades in the visual department as well. This should definitely increase fans’ excitement for one of the biggest titles of all time. However, not all features of the update have received amazing opinions from the fans.

Skyrim fans disappointed with the new Fishing content in the update
Along with the Survival Mode creation, The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim has a new fishing creation. The new feature will allow players to obtain their own food with over 20 aquatic species for them to catch. They can then cook them and eat as food or even display their catches as trophies in the den. As the game has some serene environments, fishing provides a tranquil experience that fans will love a lot. However, that’s not been the case so far.
Recently, a Reddit post on r/skyrimmods bashed this creation as Bethesda marketed it as one of the big talking points of the update. The player explained how the creation isn’t up to par, as it doesn’t allow players to fish from anywhere. Fans can only fish in the game from certain locations. As most players in the Survival Mode will use it to catch their food, they will have a hard time surviving as they can’t fish from rivers or lakes.

No third person animation
Other than that, the player also talked about the lack of third person animation during fishing. Currently, this new creation only allows fans to fish with a fixed camera in first person. Additionally, it’s not that hard to catch them as well as they will just have to press a button when they see the rod shake. There isn’t much complexity, which deters the community from doing it all the time.

While it’s a minigame, fans can’t help but think that Bethesda put little to no effort into building a major creation like this. It remains to be seen if the developers work on improving it and adding more elements. However, as of now, the community isn’t happy with fishing at all.
