Throughout the French Open, Stefanos Tsitsipas and Andrey Rublev were both playing amazing tennis. That is why fans were expecting an exciting battle when they faced off in the quarter-finals.

In the first set, Rublev broke first and held onto it until he was serving at 5-4. A lot of unforced errors saw him lose the game to Tsitsipas, who then held his serve to go up 6-5. The Greek star then broke again to take the first set 7-5, leaving Rublev distraught.

Moving into the second set, Tsitsipas put a lot of pressure on the Rublev serve. However, the Russian still managed to hold. Both men played extraordinary tennis and hit many spectacular winners to entertain the fans.

At 3-2, Stefanos took his game to the next level and broke the Russian. He went on to hold his serve to take a comfortable 5-2 lead and he broke again to seal the set 6-2.

Third Set

Stefanos Tsitsipas had a 2-0 sets lead and that it is why it was very difficult for Rublev to come back. The Russian was still fighting for every point, but unfortunately, it was not enough. The Greek star was playing with a lot of confidence and broke to lead 3-1.

Tsitsipas then raced through his service games and ended up winning the set and the match, 7-5, 6-2, 6-3.

Clearly, Stefanos played a great match, and he was very happy about his performance. He loves the French Open and in the on-court interview said, “When I was little, I skipped school to watch Roland Garros. It shows how much I love this tournament. Paris, I love you!”

With this win, Tsitsipas has reached the second Grand Slam semi-final of his career and becomes the youngest semi-finalist in Paris since Del Potro.

In his next match, he will either face Novak Djokovic or Pablo Carreno Busta. It will certainly be a tough challenge, but Stefanos certainly has the ability to overcome it and reach his first Grand Slam final.
