In the 17 years of his professional career, Hawk bagged gold in the 1995 and 1997 X Games and won over 70 competitions additionally. Now, HBO will soon release a documentary on Hawk’s life titled, “Until The Wheels Fall Off”, directed by Sam Jones.
New documentary highlights Tony Hawk’s career
Tony Hawk took to his Instagram recently, breaking the news of the documentary. He revealed that director Sam Jones had approached him regarding the documentary, and he instantly knew, Jones was the right for the job.
“I instinctively knew that I could trust him to tell my story in an authentic way based on his previous work”, said Hawk.

Undoubtedly, Jones has put his best foot forward and produced an insightful watch for all. Sure, Hawk will be extremely proud of this documentary, which tells the untold story of his life.
Titled “Until The Wheels Fall Off”, the documentary will look at the iconic career of Tony Hawk spanning across 17 glorious years. Moreover, Hawk will also be caught candid in conversation, narrating his own story.
HBO has acquired the rights for the documentary from Mark and Jay Duplass’ Duplass Brothers Productions and director Sam Jones (Audience Network’s Off Camera with Sam Jones).

Hawk expressed how proud he was of the documentary. Undoubtedly, the cinematic masterpiece will allow fans to have a deeper look into Hawk’s life, and unravel never-heard-before stories of his success and failure.
The documentary also stars prominent figures from the world of skateboarding. Some of the names include Stacy Peralta, Rodney Mullen, Mike McGill, Lance Mountain, Steve Caballero, Neil Blender, Andy MacDonald, Duane Peters, Sean Mortimer, and Christian Hosoi.
Director Sam Jones has also revealed that he was always interested in Hawk’s life and wanted to know him personally. Jones also shares a mutual love for skating with the ace skateboarder.

“To get to know him as a human being has been the great journey of this film, and to share my love of skating in this way is the culmination of my creative endeavors,” said Jones.
Hawk is very excited about the documentary and revealed that it is very close to his heart.
“I am very proud that HBO found it interesting enough to acquire it. “Until The Wheels Fall Off” will debut in 2022. Until then, you can usually find me right here with a skateboard under my feet,” said Hawk.
