Shroud finally decided to break his silence on the on-going controller vs Keyboard and Mouse debate. The eSports community has always been split apart about some things ever since it came into existence. One of these issues that have stood the test of time is the KBM vs. Controller debate. The two parties never cease to talk about this. Even the pros have their own take on this issue.

Shroud gave his take on this matter, and after listening to it, we do see the point he is making. Shroud said a few days ago that these two should not exist in the same sphere together. It is a huge thing to say- do they need their own tournaments or their private lobby?

Realistically, that might be possible, but that will take a lot of time and effort. We do understand that when it is a cash competition, controller and KBM shouldn’t compete together. Thanks to a comprehensive video by Esports Talk, we now have an idea of what Shroud meant.

Shroud delivers his verdict on KBM vs. controller controversy

“No random shmuck can pick up a mouse and keyboard and compete against each other.”The fact that it is a difficult thing to master mouse and keyboard gameplay is quite evident here. “But, if you grab like a controller, there is a chance that it will kind of assist you in some situations.”Of course, the physics behind a controller device is different.

Controllers do have the edge, no matter how much we disagree. They are also aided with the aim-assist that games provide. This makes them quite easy to compare to a keyboard.

“Either you go only controller or only PC”

Shroud feels that tournaments should have segregation based on this. It cannot be a mixed tournament, as that would be unfair. You select either device and go with it.

“Every single player, console or pc, that is competing for money has the right to argue.”

The goal here is simple, if tournaments were arranged accordingly, then the community might get diversified. However, if we keep statistics in mind, it might also show a gradual decrease in PC players.

“The whole point of a competition is fair play,” Shroud remarked while talking about devices having advantages over each other. What is your take on the matter?
