American star Sofia Kenin has been playing some of her best tennis in 2020. At the start of the year, she won the Australian Open after coming back from a set down. And now, she has reached her first final at the French Open. Seeing this, Serena Williams’ coach Patrick Mouratoglou had a lot of complimentary things to say about her. He said:
“Her no.1 quality is her mental toughness. That was very obvious also in the Australian Open, where she won the title. She’s a tough player, she’s only business when she is on the court and you can see it. She’s tough with the opponents sometimes, but that’s her quality. So, she’s right to be, probably. She’s extremely good on the big points, she’s not shaking and if she does shake, she immediately regroups and comes back.”

Sofia Kenin is definitely happy that she has reached the final of the French Open. However, she knows that the job is not yet finished as she has to win the title. Competing for this trophy is Iga Swiatek, and she is going to pose a huge challenge for the American.
On her way to the final, Swiatek has beaten many top players like Simona Halep. In addition to that, she has also won every one of her matches in straight sets, which shows how dominating she has been.
Clearly, Sofia has her work cut out for her when she plays the final. However, as Patrick Mouratoglou said, she is mentally tough, and has the potential to overcome this challenge.
