Big Diesel is very much like the common man. Like most of us lay users, Shaquille O’Neal also browses social media, comes across a funny post on his feed, and decides to share it with everyone he knows. He shared something like that with his 31 million Instagram followers recently. With no context, fans can only interpret what Shaq was thinking about when he shared the clip of a ferocious animal. After all, the four-time champ had no problem holding a crocodile once. But this isn’t the first time Shaq has warned us about nature biting back.

The clip in question is from an alligator farm. One of the swampy residents decided to literally bite the hand that feeds it. This clip was deemed worthy of being shared by Big Diesel.

The Colorado Gator Farm in Mosca Colorado posted a video on its official social media page that has since been shared and re-shared till even Shaquille O’Neal noticed it. The scary-but-slightly-funny video is of one of the resident alligators named Elvis. One of the farm employees was trying to feed a whole raw turkey to the 12-foot, 600-pound monster. But he tripped to the ground and got the fright of his life.

Elvis had charged up to his caretaker, snapping its deadly jaws at him.

The man survived. A colleague came to his rescue and calmed Elvis easily the way one would calm an angry dog with a pat to their snout. According to the park, the gator was focused on where he saw movement, that is his handler’s flailing legs. The lesson from this is, if you’re up against a gator, no sudden movements.

Shaq shared the video on his Instagram stories with no context. But he’s prone to do that- just like many of us do. O’Neal is pretty fearless himself. He once held a crocodile himself while in Orlando. But it was a fake one, so no accidents there.

Fierce times are ahead for Shaq

O’Neal has shared something similar several times before. Last year, he shared a clip of a guy narrowly escaping a crocodile during feeding time. His goal was to warn people of getting too close to those sharp jaws.

As the highly acclaimed show is leading into season 2, the producers teased they’re working on one of the most contentious eras of the Lakers franchise. Future episodes could be centered around Shaquille O’Neal and Kobe Bryant, including their infamous feud and fabled three-peat.

The show has had fans gripped to their screens. While it is intended to honor the Lakers’ legacy, many NBA athletes have had mixed feelings about it. Even Shaq was a little critical of the first season of the show. We’d have to wait and see what he thinks about his own depiction when it comes to it.
