The recent trade between the Philadelphia 76ers and Brooklyn Nets has a lot of people talking, including the four-time world champion, Shaquille O’Neal. The trade sent Ben Simmons to the Nets and James Harden to the Sixers. This was a much-anticipated trade, as fans and analysts had been speculating about this for the past month.

Shaq spoke about what this could mean for the NBA and how the new teammates would function together. There has always been a stigma that two dominant scorers cannot function on one team. However, a recent video shows Shaquille O’Neal destroying this myth.

When asked about the trade, Shaq says it is possible for two dominant scorers to exist on one team. Shaq knows what he’s talking about since he speaks from experience. Shaq has played on teams with Kobe Bryant and Dwyane Wade. Both of these players were undeniably lethal scorers.

However, none of them sacrificed their playing time or scoring to play with the other. According to Shaq, it is all about having a system in place and respecting the other. Shaq says “if Joel and Harden could work together, it would be of great value.” Shaq continues to say that “they need to sacrifice and take turns. Kobe and I had a system.. take care of me first, then third fourth quarter was all his”.

Embiid and Harden are both top players of their position this season. Joel Embiid is one of the best Centres in the league. He is also on track to win the Most Valuable Award this season. He has been a huge impact on his team, carrying them on his shoulders.

Harden has been one of the best shooting guards in the league ever since his time on the Houston Rockets. He is currently averaging 22.5 points, 8 rebounds, and 10.2 assists per game. He brings to the table exactly what the Sixers have been lacking till now. A consistent player at the guard position.

Harden is currently number 2 on averaging the most assists this season. Harden’s playmaking and IQ combined with Embiid’s deadly scoring capability can make them the most lethal duo in the NBA. However, both of them will have to sacrifice certain things to make this happen.
